Kia Optima Named "Most Gorgeous Car Under $20K" by Esquire

American production of the Kia Optima began early this fall at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, and as Kia Motors celebrates this major accomplishment, men's lifestyle magazine Esquire applauds the 2011 Kia Optima for its world-class design at a comfortable price.

The "2011 Design and Technology Awards" recognizes the best of the automotive industry for the year. Editors at Esquire named the 2011 Kia Optima the "Most Gorgeous Car Under $20K" because of its stylish simplicity and laundry list of convenience features combined with a sticker price of $19,950. Editors at the magazine point out that "A decade ago, a shape this clean and inspiring would've cost real money."1

The refined 2011 Kia Optima has been recognized across the board for its design and safety features. Edmunds Inside Line named it the 2011 "Editors' Most Wanted" vehicle, Kiplinger's Personal Finance called it the 2011 "Best New Model," and it even landed on "Ward's 10 Best Interiors List.

Even with all of that, Kia has managed to keep the 2011 Optima comfortable and safe, to boot. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named it a 2011 "Top Safety Pick," and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) gave it a five-star crash test safety rating.

In recent years, Kia Motors has improved their brand image in the auto industry by consistently engineering with safety, quality, value and design in mind. And with all of the accolades coming in for the 2011 Kia Optima, it's no surprise that their efforts will continue down the same path. "The stunning design and value of the Optima has significantly increased awareness, perception and consideration for the Kia brand," 2 says Michael Sprague, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Kia Motors America.
